Richard McDonough

Richard was educated at the Heath Clark Grammar School, Croydon. On leaving school he trained as a quantity surveyor and took a degree in building economics, and qualified as a chartered surveyor in 1973.

After a career in the construction industry, the economic recession in the early 1990s resulted in a career change when he became a fundholding and practice manager in a GP practice. During this time, he undertook a Master’s degree in a health-related research project.

He has been treasurer of the Rotary Club of Beachy Head and Eastbourne Meads U3A, and has been treasurer of the ESO since 2021, taking over from Leslie Morrison.

Richard’s eye for detail means that the ESO finances continue to be well scrutinised and every penny accounted for.
