FRANCES JONES
Orchestra Manager
Frances leads the viola section, and has been a member of the orchestra since moving to Sussex from Birmingham in 2009.
She trained at the Birmingham Conservatoire where she won the Ludlow Prize and, after teacher training, went on to teach violin and viola in Worcestershire.
After a break to raise her children in Birmingham, she became an assistant area co-ordinator, tutor for the Birmingham Junior String Orchestra and conductor of school orchestras as well as conductor of the Birmingham Guide Orchestra.
Frances taught privately, played regularly for local amateur operatic groups, and with the same string quartet for 35 years.
Frances now plays regularly in local orchestras as well as being a churchwarden and hospital volunteer.
